Tzlil Rubinstein is a social compliance associate at FLA. In her role, Rubinstein leads companies’ portfolios through the accreditation journey, including building, evaluating, and enhancing their social compliance programs against the 10 FLA Principles. She is also part of FLA’s gender team, which is working on incorporating gender aspects into the organization’s work.

Prior to joining FLA in 2023, Rubinstein served in Israel as the interim director for human rights and freedom of protest at the Shatil-New Israel Fund, a nonprofit dedicated to advancing democracy, equality, and social justice in Israel. There, she led strategy, capacity-building, and organizing efforts for over 300 civil society organizations. Previously, she was the national spokesperson for Green Course, a grassroots climate justice movement, where she managed communications for 10 community-led campaigns.

In Israel, Rubinstein co-led the Israeli Sustainable Fashion Forum, fostering community, events, and advocacy around sustainable fashion. She completed her master’s degree in international affairs with a specialization in sustainable development from The New School, where she was awarded the Public Engagement Scholarship. During her studies, Rubinstein interned with Israel’s Mission to the UN, PollyLabs, an impact investing startup studio, and as a fellow with the International Rescue Committee. She also served as a student ambassador.

Rubinstein holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and Middle East history, magna cum laude, from Ben-Gurion University. She is based in Brooklyn, New York and speaks English and Hebrew.
