Lucy Hassel is FLA’s Investigations and Collegiate Programs Associate. In this role, she tracks participation, plans strategic communication, and develops program improvements for the 2,500+ companies in FLA’s Collegiate Licensee Program. Additionally, she facilitates the annual FLA Student Committee, providing students at FLA University Caucus schools with opportunities to promote workers’ rights. Her contributions to the Fair Labor Investigations team include standardizing methods, tracking, data collection, and evaluating the investigation process. Hassel’s work focuses on increasing organization, accessibility, and clarity of information and guidance, with the ultimate goal of optimizing the experience for FLA members and affiliates in Collegiate and Investigations programming.

Prior to joining FLA in 2024, Hassel worked in a Baltimore City middle school, where she managed the development and facilitation of programs aimed at reducing chronic absenteeism and increasing college and career readiness. She holds a bachelor’s in history from University of Maryland, College Park. She is a native English speaker and has advanced intermediate proficiency in Spanish.
