Jamie McMillan

Jamie T. McMillan is FLA’s Director of Operations. Since 2019, he has worked with the organization’s executive office and the human resources departments. He is responsible for contract and office administration and IT support and serves as the board liaison to the FLA Board of Directors. McMillan manages the day-to-day operations of U.S.-based human resources, including benefits and retirement administration, performance management, learning and development, and onboarding/offboarding.

Before joining FLA, McMillan worked in the refugee resettlement field with several nonprofits, including Global Refuge (formerly known as LIRS) and HIAS. He began as an executive assistant to the president and CEO and transitioned to human resources in 2015. McMillan began his career in financial aid with both Coppin State University and Johns Hopkins University before moving into facilities management with a Baltimore-based subsidiary of AOL.

McMillan has both a project management certification and a train-the-trainer certification and achieved the Certified Professional designation from the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM). He has a Master of Theological Studies from Wesley Theological Seminary and a Bachelor of Arts in biological studies from Johns Hopkins University. He is a pastor with a local church in Bowie, MD and lives in Maryland with his family.
