Hulusi Ögütcüler is FLA’s Social Compliance Manager, overseeing global factory assessments. He manages all activities related to the Sustainable Compliance Initiative (SCI), including assessment organizations, assessor and staff training, quality reviews, and system integrations. Since joining FLA, Ögütcüler has significantly improved the organization’s assessment systems and timelines. He also facilitates communication between member brands, assessors, and other relevant parties involved in SCI assessments.
Ögütcüler is based in Istanbul, Türkiye, and joined FLA in December 2021. He speaks Turkish and English fluently and has beginner-level proficiency in French and German. Before joining FLA, he spent over ten years working in sustainability with global retail companies such as M&S, H&M, and Fast Retailing. His expertise spans social compliance, environmental management, and quality management systems, with a focus on social compliance systems, production quality management, green energy, factory optimization, chemical management, wastewater treatment and related audits. Additionally, he has extensive experience in traceability, and recycled materials.
Ögütcüler holds bachelor’s degrees in business administration and computer engineering, as well as a Master of Science in finance from Coventry University in England.
