Emily Dodson is FLA’s Social Compliance Manager, where she plays a pivotal role in advancing the organization’s mission to promote fair labor practices globally. In this capacity, Dodson provides strategic guidance to member companies on upholding the Principles of Fair Labor and Responsible Sourcing and Production.

Dodson specializes in developing and enhancing manufacturing assessments for accreditation, rigorously evaluating factory conditions, and conducting on-site visits to member headquarters worldwide. She utilizes her experiences to provide practical guidance to member companies on adopting best practices for creating effective social sustainability programs that protect the rights and wellbeing of workers in the apparel industry. Her expertise in building robust social compliance frameworks and fostering partnerships positions her as a developing leader in driving sustainable and ethical supply chain practices.

Dodson joined FLA in 2020 after earning a bachelor’s degree in political science and human rights from the University of Connecticut’s Human Rights Institute. Her experience includes working with local civil society organizations and government institutions in Connecticut, as well as international organizations such as Social Accountability International. She is fluent in English and Spanish and currently resides in Washington, DC.
