Kathmandu Assessment for Accreditation

The FLA Board of Directors voted on June 20, 2018, to accredit Kathmandu’s social compliance program.

Kathmandu’s accreditation comes after the FLA conducted 16 SCI assessments in China, Indonesia, Israel, Taiwan, and Viet Nam; two field visits to shadow internal audits and training in China and Viet Nam; and a headquarters visit in Christchurch, New Zealand.  

The accreditation report specifically recognizes as strengths Kathmandu’s disclosure of its supplier list and FLA-conducted factory assessments on the company website and the company’s collaboration with civil society and other outdoor brands to remediate labor violations in production facilities.
