FLA members join call for increased minimum wage in Bangladesh
On October 11, 2023, 16 apparel brands and retailers sourcing in Bangladesh – including 10 members of the Fair Labor Association (FLA) – sent a joint letter to Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina urging the government of Bangladesh to increase the country’s minimum wage.
The letter called for the government to include all relevant stakeholders, including labor groups and trade unions, in minimum wage negotiations, and to foster an environment that respects workers’ collective bargaining rights.
